ENJOYABLE RIDE

Because of the unique folding action of the 4Speed AF1, it has not been necessary to compromise a good riding position and weight distribution. The essence of enjoyable cycling depends on three basic conditions: good posture, lightness of weight and low rolling resistance. Reduction of road shock is a further element of comfort and it has been found that because of its triangulated hinged aluminium frame there is a good level of natural shock absorbency distributed throughout the frame, without resorting to weight-creating suspension systems.

LIGHT AND EASY TO FOLD

At 10.5 kilos, the 4Speed AF1 is the lightest folding production bicycle available that has good, generous conventional riding dimensions. The shape when folded and the light weight of the bike is particularly important when it comes to carrying it on public transport. Once the folding sequence is learned the bike can easily be folded in 10 seconds without having to bend down or undo clamps or hinges.

Because of its slim vertical format it can be easily stored in a cupboard or hallway of a small flat.
Stands with a 2 or 4 bike capacity are available both for use in retail outlets and for bike storage In the workplace.

FUNCTIONAL YET ATTRACTIVE

Designed by an architect with a trained eye for structural efficiency, the 4Speed AF1 is a handsome example of industrial design, with nothing superfluous in its clean, functional lines. The light weight frame is made from high-grade aluminium alloy and engineering plastic hinge bearings. Wherever possible, all the components are also aluminium alloy. The frame is anodised.

VERSATILE

With adjustable handlebars and saddle, the 4Speed AF1 is suitable for adults and children down to the age of 10. Perfect for commuting and town use, it is also very attractive for long trips, because of its comfortable riding position and generous size. It can carry a considerable amount of luggage in the mouse-trap style carrier. A particular benefit with this arrangement is that the weight of the luggage is within the cycle wheelbase, thus minimising any effect of luggage on the steering quality and stability of the bike. The carrying bag for the bike doubles up as a luggage bag when hooked onto the saddle and strapped into the carrier frame with a bungee.
